The magic of Alpine refuges & snow flurries – the winter camping experience
It’s early December. You only arrived yesterday and you immediately secured yourself an Alpine bungalow. Glamping – it sounds so amusing that you wanted to try it out. Now you’re sitting here in Dobbiaco, tucked under a soft blanket whilst the camp fire crackles and sparks at your feet. In your hand you cradle a cup of mulled wine that smells of cinnamon. You were lost in thought when you suddenly notice small snowdrops. You look surprised up at the heavens. Yes. It has actually started to snow slowly … You pull the blanket tighter around you and smilingly hum a Christmas carol that comes to mind as the fire is reflected in your eyes …
However nice camping is in summer or in the spring or autumn, we still really look forward to winter. And to the first snow, to the first snowshoe hike and the first descent down the piste!
